VANCOUVER ISLAND – The BC Cancer Foundation is partnering with local Vancouver Island grocers for the second year to enhance access to cutting-edge cancer research and care on the Island.
From October 11–November 11, the Grocers Going Beyond campaign will harness the power of community, with local grocery brands uniting to change cancer outcomes on the Island by bringing more life-saving research and world-first clinical trials to BC Cancer – Victoria.
The coalition includes: 49th Parallel,Fairway Markets, Red Barn Market, Thrifty Foods and Tru Value Foods.
Thrifty Foods will match all donations up to $50,000 until November 11th.
Grocers Going Beyond will raise funds for the Innovation Research Fund as part of the BC Cancer Foundation’s Beyond Belief campaign, which aims to advance cancer research and enhance care across the province.
Over 6,000 people on Vancouver Island will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
