KELOWNAKelowna Chevrolet and Valley Mitsubishi of Kelowna have earned Green Star Dealer Awards at the Vancouver International Auto Show March 21.

The Green Star Awards recognize New Car Dealers selling the highest number of clean energy eligible vehicles annually across all brands, including the most Improved Dealership from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Interior, and Northern BC.

Kelowna Chevrolet won the Award for Top Battery Electric Vehicle Sales (BEV) for the Interior, and Valley Mitsubishi for Plug-in Electric Hybrid Sales (PHEV) for 2023.

The Salesperson of the Year Award is presented by EBlock to dealer-member salespeople across all classes who have excelled in the front-line position of sales. Robert Mclaren of Bannister Chevrolet Buick GMC Vernon was honored.

“It is only fitting that the return of the Auto Show after a four-year absence should begin with a celebration of excellence,” said Blair Qualey, President, and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC. “This was an opportunity to honour some of our best and brightest and recognize many emerging leaders in our industry.”

Sales figures for 2023 show ZEVs represented almost 23% of new light-duty passenger vehicles sold over the course of the year, the highest percentage for any province or territory.  The number of applications processed through the CleanBC Go Electric Vehicle Rebate Program also surpassed 22,500 – an all-time high.
The New Car Dealers Association of BC (NCDA) represents over 400 new car and truck dealers throughout British Columbia who directly employ 30,000 British Columbians and are responsible for $17 billion in retail sales in the province. The Association speaks on behalf of the retail automotive industry and advocates on legal, environmental, and consumer issues relating to vehicle sales in British Columbia.
