KAMLOOPS Aberdeen Mall, a landmark shopping centre located at 1320 Trans-Canada Highway West, is targeting health-oriented service companies to complement the existing lineup of over 80 merchants.

Kristi Williams, Marketing & Specialty Leasing Manager of Aberdeen Mall says that health service-oriented providers would be ideal tenants for exterior-facing space that is currently available, directly adjacent to the bus stop at the mall (approximately 7,200 square feet).

“We are actively seeking health and wellness practitioners and clinical service providers, including doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, pharmacists and other health service providers to join the tenant roster,” Kristi says. “Bringing health care services closer to where people shop and spend time makes sense for everyone.

“Waiting rooms won’t be overrun as patients and caregivers will have a warm (or cool), dry place to spend time while waiting for appointments. The space can be customized to meet specific needs of individual practitioners.”

Aberdeen Mall, which opened in August 1981, is the premier shopping destination in Kamloops and is conveniently located along Trans-Canada Highway in a well-established community. The mall is serviced by 3 bus routes, and there is an abundance of free parking.

In the past few years, Aberdeen Mall has attracted strong national retailers including lululemon, Marshalls, Old Navy, Sephora and Saje Natural Wellness, expanding the merchant mix and increasing foot traffic. The addition of Fresh St. Market, a BC-based grocery store offering a wide selection of quality, local, organic, and exclusively sourced goods, has encouraged customers to return to the mall on a daily basis.

“We are seeing strong and steady increases in foot traffic year-over-year, and we continue to focus on expanding and diversifying the tenant mix,” says Kristi.

Aberdeen Mall offers temporary and specialty leasing opportunities that are ideal for new retailers who want to start small or test the waters before committing to a longer-term lease. A short-term leasing prospect is an excellent opportunity to test the market, introduce your product or drive awareness to a new concept.

Aberdeen Mall is proud of its commitment to protecting the environment. Product flowing through Aberdeen Mall is carefully examined as to its recyclable potential. The assortment of waste produced at a shopping centre is akin to handling the waste of a micro city. Organics, wood, plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, packaging (non-perishable and consumer), eWaste, construction waste, light bulbs and batteries are some of the products that Aberdeen Mall sorts and diverts from landfills on an ongoing basis. Working with local community partners, Aberdeen Mall has held numerous recycling events whereby clothing, household goods, construction materials and eWaste are collected and recycled or donated. These events are very successful, facilitating participation from many members of the community and encouraging more community partners to join in our waste diversion efforts.
