NANAIMO – Organized jointly by Small Business BC and the local Community Futures office, My Biz Day is a free conference, trade show and networking opportunity designed specifically for small business owners, or those wanting to open a small business. To be held at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC) in Nanaimo, the day-long session takes place on Wednesday, October 21.
Topics to be covered during the event will range from locating funding for entrepreneurial ventures to marketing in a digital age. Five different sponsored sessions will take place, with a wrap up panel discussion rounding out the day. Event sponsors include Small Business BC, the Yellow Pages, the Neil Squire Society, Community Futures, Futurpreneur Canada and the Women’s Enterprise Centre.
A companion trade show will run concurrently with the workshop sessions. The Nanaimo event is one of three being organized around the province. While the workshop and conference is free, seating for the sessions will be limited so registration is recommended. Registration can be completed online at the My Biz Day landing page.
