COWICHAN VALLEY – The Duncan Cowichan Chamber is excited to welcome back in-person networking and events, starting with several Lunch n’ Learns, Mix and Mingles and our Monthly Speaker Series Lunches.
Our April Speaker Series Luncheon event kicked off with presenters from the Island Corridor Foundation (ICF). The ICF is a federally registered charity established for the purposes of owning and managing the former E&N Corridor on Vancouver Island and represents First Nations and local governments adjacent to the corridor. They recognize the importance of this corridor as a link to connect communities economically, socially, and spiritually. ICF has been working diligently to secure a stable and prosperous future for the Island Corridor for the benefit of all Vancouver Island Residents.
Our second Speaker Series Luncheon at the Farm Table Inn on May 26 will feature presenters from Tourism Cowichan and Tourism Vancouver Island who will provide a destination marketing update for the Cowichan Region. We are also excited to welcome the new Executive Officer, Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, Jason Yochim, as our June 16 Luncheon speaker.
To celebrate the easing of COVID restrictions, we recently launched our Grow With Us This Spring campaign, offering a small incentive to “test drive” the Chamber while supporting our local food and beverage community. New members who join the Chamber this spring will receive a $25 gift card to one of our fabulous Cowichan F&B venues. It’s a small gesture with an opportunity to support local restaurants and craft beverage producers, while joining the largest business networking and advocacy organization in the Cowichan.
The Chamber is looking to welcome all kinds of businesses into our family this spring, including inviting previous members looking to grow their business further this year.
We have already welcomed ten new members since launching the campaign. Here’s a sampling of the diverse group of businesses who have joined in 2022: Dirt Groms Biking Ltd, Island True Blue Business Services, Jacqueline Ellis Realty, Cowichan Bay Waterworks District, South Vancouver Island Contracting, Design X Promotions Inc., Great Dane Painting, Cornerstone Lawyers, MasterCraft Flooring, The Hamlets at Duncan, Oake and Rowan, Cowichan Community Policing & Engagement, Island Pet Zone and Ponds, Foxy Box Laser & Wax Bar, OodyOos Pet Store, Sheila Leclerc Coaching, Brian Hebbert Real Estate Services, Western Forest Products, Maple Bay Bookkeeping and Sheryl Jardine – Royal LePage Duncan Realty.
