WESTSHORE – Every word of that title is true…except possibly for the “new” part! It’s a fairly standard phenomenon that many take time in the summer to unplug, recharge, and plan for the remainder of the year. There is a renewed energy in September as people get back into their school and work routines.
At the WestShore Chamber, we are ramping up after the slower pace of summer. In 2025, we are pleased to be the host community for September’s 5 Chambers Mixer, generously hosted by Royal Roads University. This annual event brings together the communities of the Esquimalt, Greater Victoria, Saanich Peninsula, Sooke Region and WestShore Chambers of Commerce. While our networking events are becoming more and more popular, we were surprised when our available spaces for this event sold out in three hours. Please check with the chamber you belong to for the latest update on available spaces!
Then in October, we’ll be heading to Elements Casino Victoria for the Best of the WestShore Awards celebration. This popular initiative is brought to you by the Goldstream Gazette and WestShore Chamber of Commerce, with the top three finalists in all categories determined by public vote. Tickets will be on sale for the celebration by mid-September, after voting closes on Labour Day.
In November, our Annual General Meeting and Mixer will be hosted by our longtime member Earth’s Option at their new location on the West Shore Parkway. As well as reviewing the financial statements and receiving the reports of the President and Executive Director, Chamber members vote in the board of directors for 2026. If you are a WestShore Chamber member in good standing, the application process is open until noon on September 15.
