WESTSHORE CHAMBER: PURPOSE-DRIVEN BUSINESS ON VANCOUVER ISLAND

WESTSHOREThe WestShore Chamber is part of a network of provincial chambers, including those on Vancouver Island, which create opportunities for support and learning. We’ve been pleased to be involved in the Vancouver Island Purpose & Business Collaborative. This new initiative, led by the Tofino and Sooke Region Chambers in partnership with the Canadian Purpose Economy Project, is designed to help businesses strengthen both their operations and their contribution to the communities they serve.

A key opportunity in May is the live webinar on May 28, Changing Leadership for Changing Times: The Business Case for Purpose. It is part of a three-part learning series that supports businesses at every stage, whether they are just beginning to think about social purpose or are already looking for ways to embed it more deeply into strategy and operations. Participants also have access to additional on-demand learning and follow-up office hours for questions, troubleshooting, and practical support. The cost of this program is just $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members, despite its value of $1500+

At a time when many organizations are navigating rising costs, workforce pressures, and changing expectations, this kind of programming is especially timely. More than a nice idea, “purpose” can help build resilience, strengthen trust, and create clearer direction. Programs like VIPBC remind us that business leadership and community leadership are not separate conversations. They are deeply connected, and when we invest in both, our region is stronger for it.
