Western Innovation Initiative Info Sessions Coming to BC

February 25, 2016

Reading Time: 30 Seconds

BC – Beginning on March 14, Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) will be launching the 3rd call for proposals for the Western Innovation Initiative (WINN). The first two intakes resulted in support for 21 projects in B.C. with companies receiving over $18 million in funding commitments.

WINN is a five-year, $100 million federal funding initiative that offers repayable contributions to western Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to commercialize innovative technology-based products, processes or services. WINN represents a step forward in addressing the commercialization gap in the Canadian innovation system. WD will be accepting online applications from March 14, 2016 to April 13, 2016.

Businesses are invited to learn more about commercialization funding from WD and other federal partners, and how WINN can help their business move its next great idea from the workbench to the marketplace, including:

  • Program intake timelines
  • Eligibility information
  • Application and evaluation processes
  • Elements of a strong proposal
