VRBA Announces New Board of Directors And Award Winners

VICTORIA – The Victoria Residential Builders Association announced the 2022/23 Board of Directors at their Annual General Meeting on November 9, 2022. The event speaker was Jim Baker, Senior Codes Administrator, BC Building and Safety Standards.

The new Board is represented by:

President: Ellie Sercombe, Limona Group and TEKloch Homes

Past President: Norm Verbrugge, Norman Homes

First Vice-President: Mike Dalton, Città Group

Second Vice-President: Russ Barry, Interactive Construction Inc

Treasurer: Brian Trenchard, EnViroTec General Contracting Ltd

Builders Council Chair: Mike Dalton, Città Group

Suppliers and Trades Council Chair: Darrell Ell, Independent Concrete Ltd

At VRBA’s Annual General Meeting, Norm Verbrugge presented the following awards:

  • Jerry Hepburn Award Memorial Award for integrity & professionalism – Mike Dalton, Città Group
  • Mike Kipot Award for contribution to the industry – Allan McLaren, McLaren Properties
  • Sponsors Appreciation Award for supporting the CARE Awards – BC Employee Benefit Trust
  • Marilyn Ann Lee Award for service and innovation – Dani Metzmeier, Times Colonist
  • Service Award – Brendan Bobby, Travelers Insurance Company of Canada for delivering builder education and Dusty Delain, Amity Construction for his many years on the board.

Outgoing President Norm Verbrugge was presented with the Executive Achievement Award for leadership. “I want to thank Norm and the award winners for their service to the industry,” says VRBA President Ellie Sercombe. “I will work with Norm and a great VRBA team to continue addressing a lack of housing supply and affordability in our region.”
