VICTORIA – The final drop off day at the Mustard Seed Food Bank was cold and wet, but it didn’t stop 34 participating companies from making a major contribution to their community.
A total of $76,664.60 in cash and 5,441lbs of food was been collected for the Mustard Seed as a direct result from the VIATEC Food Bank Challenge! The weight in food is equal to $13,602.50 bringing the total 2016 value to $90,267.10!
“It’s hard to believe this annual event has come so far,” said VIATEC CEO, Dan Gunn. “We are proud to play a small role in organizing and directing the community spirit of our members but all the credit goes to them. They’ve been digging deep, having fun and making a difference as part of the VIATEC Food Bank Challenge for over a decade and we look forward to aiding them for many more decades to come.”
Since its inception in 2002, $1,981,296.84 worth of food and cash has been donated to the Mustard Seed through companies participating in the VIATEC Food Bank Challenge. With this year’s amount, we’re now at $2,071,563.94!
