BRITISH COLUMBIA – There are over 46,000 kilometres of highways and side roads in British Columbia.
Along with that, there are over 2,900 bridges, 25 coastal ferry routes and another 14 inland, and 707 traffic signals.
That’s a lot of area to cover, and as expected, there are numerous companies within the province dedicated to moving products throughout the region.
Along with that, new technology continues to enable the transportation industry to evolve, and Volvo has refined its new generation of Volvo Dynamic Steering to detect a tire blowout, allowing drivers to take immediate action and keep trucks safely on the road.
The system can detect a front tire puncture in a split second to automatically mitigate its impact, and also reduces the side forces that a sudden loss of tire air pressure can create when a flat tire occurs.
“A flat tire can easily cause a truck to suddenly veer to the side and the consequences can be fatal. This innovation improves safety for drivers and surrounding road users and makes our Volvo Dynamic Steering system better than ever,” says Anna Wrige Berling, Traffic Safety Director, Volvo Trucks.
