Up to 80 guests can meet inside the Qualicum Beach Inn

QUALICUM BEACH – Tourists are flocking back to the Qualicum Beach Inn following the Covid pandemic, and the property is wide open for new conference and event business.

The 32-room property across the road from the famous sandy Qualicum Beach features a conference centre that can host up to 80 guests and features a private patio looking out to the ocean.

“We cater to corporate retreats that focus on small to medium events, such as team-building, seminars, work conferences, or corporate receptions and dinners,” notes Irina Ciumac, Manager of the property. “Whether a team is looking for a casual after-work event or a full-service private dinner party, we are ready to provide a five-star experience to all our guests.”

To further enhance guests’ experience, they offer tailored packages for corporate golf, fishing, hikes, and tours that can all be created by the Qualicum Beach Inn team.

“Family reunions, weddings and receptions are other events that can take place in the conference room,” she adds. “The catering from the Qualicum Beach Café is really wonderful.”

Repeat business is becoming more frequent, as Irina recalls one company booking the conference room for a large pre-Christmas corporate dinner, as well as 20 plus rooms. Recently, the same firm booked over 20 rooms again, for a sales training program at the property.

Kelland Properties, a company owned by the founders of Quality Foods, purchased the former Old Dutch Inn in 2015 and renovated it with an elegant mid-century modern design on the same footprint to transform it into the Qualicum Beach Inn. Jerid Schley oversees the property.

“Customer service has been our focal point, above all else,” Jerid states. “Our roots are in the grocery industry for the past 35 years, and we have fabricated our vision to provide the best service to our guests. We have always treated guests as family and that has led us to build long-lasting relationships with our client base.”

Irina adds: “Our boutique hotel packs a punch with an indoor heated pool, spa, fitness centre, sauna and conference space that has easy access to Qualicum Beach and steps away from the city centre. If walking isn’t preferred, we provide shuttle services with our fleet of Golf Carts, Escalade, or Sprinter for just being a guest.”

Qualicum Beach Inn facilities are warm and open

Their new partnership with the Qualicum Beach Café enhances stays for guests, providing a fine-casual dining experience from breakfast to dinner.

Growth has been steady since early 2022 and they have been gearing up for a strong 2023 year.

“Our capacity is getting back to pre-pandemic levels and it’s refreshing to see guests from all over the world again, given the turbulence in the hospitality industry the past few years.”

Not surprising, Irina points to the property’s commitment and emphasis on customer service as the key to their success.

“We are a small team with a big heart, we take pride in our town, and strive to create unforgettable experiences for those visiting,” she says. “In our online reviews, guests always compliment our friendly staff that go above and beyond. We think caring about people is always the key to success.”
