VICTORIA – In today’s ever-changing climate, the seasons are stretching longer and the storms are becoming more unforgiving. Particularly in Canada, each moment spent outside is precious, and having the right patio set up is crucial to maximizing that time.

Keeping your deck equipped with the right furniture and accessories ensures your outdoor space is a welcoming, warm environment everyone delights in using. Additionally, keeping all inside, as well as outside, areas safe and secure is vital to having peace-of-mind.

“Powder Coating is a dry finishing process created by using an electric charge that causes a dry powder to fuse to metal being coated,” said Jocelyn McColl, general manager at Avilion Metalcraft Ltd. “We then bake it in a curing oven to achieve a smooth or textured coating depending on the colour chosen. It provides a rock-hard coating far more superior to painting and adds a gorgeous finish and protects against rust and oxidization.”

McColl and her team have recently announced the launch of a new business called House of Colour. Based in Victoria, House of Colour specializes in expert powder coating for guardrails, patio furniture, trailer hitch parts, car rims and other miscellaneous items. The team has over 100 different colours in stock, with access to over 3,000.

“We used to outsource everything around Victoria, and we weren’t always happy with the results, so we decided to take it into our own hands.”

McColl and the team want customers to realize that the process is longer-lasting, and a far better investment opposed to sanding or hand painting, with some items able to last up to 40 years without compromised quality.

That same quality is guaranteed by parent company Avilion Metalcraft, Victoria’s trusted railing contractor for over 17 years. Also based in Victoria, the professionals at Avilion have an upstanding reputation in the south Vancouver Island area and can confidently deliver on almost any guardrail project.

“We build completely custom aluminum, stainless steel and glass guardrails and are now offering top quality in-house powder coating to complement our exquisite fabrication and custom work,” said McColl. “State of the art equipment, skilled professionals and a team that takes the utmost attention to detail allows us to produce an exceptional product every time.”

House of Colour is ready to take on any powder coating project and as the weather continues to warm up, now is the perfect time to get your possessions protected from the wear of summer months.
