As in Point of Sale systems, which has been providing control systems for hospitality, retail and liquor businesses on Vancouver Island for the past two decades.

“Orca Dynamics celebrated 20 years of being in business in February, and that is a very big milestone in this industry.,” notes Peter Hennig, who owns the company with Trevor Watson and Greg Redding. “We are very proud of our staying power and ability to keep providing excellent service to each and every one of our clients without whose daily trust and faith in us, we would not have been able to accomplish such a feat.

Each of the partners had 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry prior to founding the company, and while Hennig focuses on sales, Redding manages the technicians and service, and Watson manages operations, the office and financials.

Orca Dynamics offers software from top names such as Logivision, Maitre’D, Profitek, and Universal, as well as cloud-based solutions like GlobalTill, CanPOS, and android-based cash registers from Optima. They also recently added Focus POS products.

“We work hard in offering the most stable, and full featured products for any of the markets we service,” Hennig notes. “Software is ever changing and evolving, just like the hospitality industry is, so we feel it is important to keep up, or better yet, be forward thinking.  We stay current by providing solutions that are cloud or tablet based, as well as new features to help owners manage their bottom line.”

Hennig points out that face-to-face support is one of the major reasons for the company’s success.

“Many solutions out there today are based far away with no local nor immediate support,” he observes. “Local community members and business owners pride themselves on supporting local businesses.  Our client base appreciates that we are a local company, and that when you connect with us, it will be a person answering your call, not a recorded message, nor robot.

“Throughout the years, we have cultivated a close relationship with our clients and they know who we are.  They know our team members and they know we pride ourselves in understanding their individual and unique needs.  Because of this many of our clients have been with us for the entire 20 years.”
