VICTORIA – Nexii Building Solutions, which last year announced plans to build one of its plants on southern Vancouver Island, has been recognized by Reuters in its 12th Annual Responsible Business Awards which celebrate international leadership in sustainable business.
Nexii’s green building products earned the company top spot in the Product or Service Innovation category. Other finalists were Chipotle Mexican Grill, Moody’s and Walgreens.
Over 600 entrants applied for the Reuters Awards this year, and judges were “impressed to see such scalable innovation. . .for a key sector where impact is important, and there is a lot of opportunity ahead.”
Nexii’s prime product, as stated in a company press release, “is a sustainable concrete alternative that can create sustainable, disaster-resilient buildings and retrofits with reduced emissions, up to 75 per cent shorter build times, and near-zero on-site waste.
“Nexitte is used to create Nexii Panels for use in airtight, non-toxic commercial, industrial and residential buildings, resulting in up to 33 per cent less embodied carbon.
