Managing Partner Making Appearances on Buying Beverly Hills TV Program

Seattle’s office of The Agency opened in 2022

VICTORIAJason Binab has been known for his marketing savvy for many years, but there’s no doubt his company’s presence on television has driven The Agency to new heights in the Capital Region real estate market.

The Agency’s appearance on Buying Beverly Hills during its first season on Netflix has created quite an impression with buyers, past and future. Binab expects to be in some episodes for season two of the series, which was the number one watched real estate TV program in over a dozen countries on Netflix.

“The thing about TV shows is that people want to know and trust you. When you’re on video, they get to see you and they end up thinking ‘this is someone I want to connect with’, he observes. “Are you genuine and sincere? When you get a person on TV and can be yourself and you’re not acting, the hope is that will resonate with people and they will pick up the phone and call you and say ‘you seem like the kind of person I’d like to work with’.” The Agency has over 80 offices and 1,500 realtors throughout the world, including recent expansions to Spain, Holland, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

“The Buying Beverly Hills TV show has put the company on the map,” Binab states.

Binab, who has 18 years in the local real estate industry, is Managing Partner of The Agency’s offices in Victoria – Canada’s first – which he opened in 2018, and Seattle, Washington, which was established last June. He sees similarities between the markets. “The Seattle area is kind of the same as here,” he notes. “It was definitely slower earlier this year, but when interest rates stabilized, the market really picked up. On January 26 it was announced they were going to hold tight on interest rates, and from that moment forward people started feeling confident in the market.

“Some people realized that if they were to buy a home today, they could do a two-year fixed term and re-finance in a couple of years when the rates come down. The 20-year average rate is 4.09 per cent (at time of writing), so we still have a ways to come down.”

The Victoria market is fairly balanced at the moment.

“It’s an issue of supply and demand and we live on an Island and we only have so much property available,” he says. “We don’t have the ability of a city like Calgary that has infinite land and they keep expanding out. “That’s what I like about the Greater Victoria core: we don’t have that much land. We don’t have mountains that we can turn into a thousand or more homes, so real estate is typically a good, solid investment.”

The Agency’s marketing package remains one of the firm’s strengths, and they continue to work with Platinum Creative for videography and photography.

“They exclusively work with us to ensure all of our listings receive a red carpet debut and create best-in-the-industry content,” Binab states. “All of our agents are empowered with the strength of The Agency’s marketing.”
