LANGFORD – The City of Langford concludes the year with another accolade, ranking third on the Globe and Mail’s list of the 20 Most Livable Canadian Cities for Entrepreneurs. This ranking is based on key economic factors, low commute times, and low taxes.
View Royal and Saskatoon topped the Globe and Mail list, which also introduced a new variable in its criteria: projected population changes from 2024 to 2029. The addition aims to capture future community dynamics that may impact businesses and their owners.
This ranking is one of six designed to assist individuals in finding the best city based on their life stage. Relocating to a new city involves many considerations, and while it is a personal decision, a ranking focusing on livability can provide valuable guidance. The Globe and Mail collected data from 448 cities across Canada, each with a population exceeding 10,000. The evaluation analyzed 50 variables across ten crucial categories identified for individuals contemplating a move: economy, housing, demographics, health care, safety, education, community, amenities, transportation, and climate.
This recognition is the third for the community this year. The City of Langford also received the Community Project Award from the British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA) for its contributions to the local economy through The Langford Station project. Additionally, it was awarded the Climate & Energy Action Award for the Capital Region Extreme Heat Information Portal.
The City of Langford stands out as a preferred destination for entrepreneurs seeking a growing, vibrant, and supportive community to thrive in, with abundant opportunities.
