BRITISH COLUMBIA – Kot Auto Group’s acquisition of its 10th dealership, Sunrise Ford in 100 Mile House, continues their goal of reaching 15 dealerships by 2029.
The new and used Ford dealership, with a service department and body shop, is the first Ford brand and body shop under the umbrella of the Kot Auto Group and its first store in the South Cariboo.
“We are excited to bring an additional domestic brand to our portfolio and allow for more opportunity with our team and our customers,” says Kot Auto Group President John Kot, noting they added their first domestic dealership, Woodgrove Chrysler of Nanaimo, in September, 2022. “We have seen significant growth with Woodgrove Chrysler over the past two years. I am confident that with the Kot Auto Group, alongside long-term General Manager Scott Muir, who has joined as partner of Sunrise Ford, we will achieve exceptional results.
“We would also like to thank Leon Chretien and Kirt Prete for ensuring a smooth a seamless transition during this acquisition”.

In the Okanagan, Genesis Kelowna has received a Forbes Travel Guide Award for Luxury Hospitality.
The recognition “In Partnership With Forbes Travel Guide” is built around the same standards maintained at a Forbes Travel Guide Star-Rated Hotel.
“The partnership with Forbes Travel Guide is unprecedented for an automotive company,” states John Kot. “After being fortunate to be chosen to take a week’s long training in Bordeaux, France at the Forbes Travel Guide Center for Excellence, I was able to immerse myself in this distinctive setting.
“This center inspires and elevates attendees by showcasing how excellence drive business success. What a creative approach to change the landscape of luxury buying and customer service.”
Genesis Kelowna had to work through extensive coaching and training to learn about luxury hospitality practices and how to implement them for their customers. They then consistently delivered above-average purchase and ownership experiences and successfully passed a comprehensive on-site guest experience assessment conducted by an independent third-party expert on behalf of Forbes Travel Guide in order to receive this recognition.
In 2023, Genesis Motors Canada announced a partnership with Forbes Travel Guide, and the Kot Auto Group is expanding Genesis Kelowna to a brand-new facility on Cary Road, just off Highway 97.
