SAANICHTON – A locally-owned business with humble beginnings, In-Flame Heating Inc. started in the garage of founder Colin Young alongside brother Clay Young, focusing on wood, pellet, and gas fireplaces and mostly offering service work.
“My brother and I both had experience in the heating industry,” explains Colin. “As we gained traction, I started considering building In-flame into a more established company. Though Clay eventually left the province for another career opportunity, the growth continued, so I took the leap and brought on my business partner, Matt O’Connor. In-flame officially became an incorporated company in 2013 and we’ve been growing ever since.”

In the past eight years, In-Flame has expanded to serve the southern part of Vancouver Island as well as Gulf Island communities, offering everything from chimney sweeping, installations and removals, hearth products and accessories, and so much more, including free quotes and consultations. Fully licensed, insured and Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) certified, In-Flame does it all, and while there are numerous similar businesses across the Island, Colin believes their company stands out for a reason.
Colin elaborates, “We bring a high level of quality workmanship to every job, commercial or residential, and take genuine pride in building lasting relationships with our customers. We believe our friendly, honest approach is one of the keys to our continued success.”
As 2021 approaches, In-Flame Heating looks forward to adding a new, talent technician to the team, and purchasing their own building sometime in the near future, a goal Colin and Matt have established for themselves. Beyond that, they are thrilled to continue supporting the heating needs of BC communities.
