Graphic FX Signworks owner Jay Velikovsky

VICTORIAJay Velikovsky says his business Graphic FX Signworks is a one-stop shop for signs and graphics, and after a little investigating, he isn’t kidding!

The company, now in its 22nd year, designs, prints, fabricates, ships and installs all of its products. Their team of 25 employees include everything from designers, metal fabricators and welders who manufacture signage structures, to painters and installers who make the vision come to life.

“Our clients know they can deal with our shop for all their needs,” says owner Velikovsky. “Whether it be a vehicle wrap or an illuminated sign – they don‘t have to work with different companies, as we do it all here. Having all the equipment and tools that are needed means we don’t have to rely on others, and in this economic market being confident in servicing your clientele is very important. I believe this is what has made us successful.

“Having a really wide range of staff, all talented in different expertise, who can build anything helps us stand out from our competitors. Our staff are excited to do unique and highly visible projects for our community. From illuminated signs for the front of businesses, big wall murals, vehicle wraps, wayfinding signage, construction signage and real estate presentation centre displays, we do it all.”

Graphic FX supplies and services a wide range of industries from Victoria to Courtenay – over 1,300 companies to be exact – including real estate developers, property managers, retailers, food chains, architectural firms, sport teams and facilities, transportation companies, and a host of service supply businesses.

Velikovsky started the company in his parents’ garage in what he felt was going to be a side hustle while attending university. However, his phone kept ringing, the business kept growing in terms of clients and has had to expand its facilities several times over the past two decades.

He is also involved in a half dozen other businesses, including multi-million dollar real estate developments, while his wife Jessica has burgeoning, furniture, design and staging business.

Velikovsky manages to concentrate on the continued growth of Graphic FX and their customers.

“We have a lot of loyal clients who trust us, and referral is the key to success. They refer, and that’s how we’ve been successful,” he says. “We have become friends with our clients and watched them and their families and businesses grow over the years.

“The relationships we’ve built with people and seeing our creative work around town and all the connections we’ve made is more important than money to me.”
