FIVE B.C. COMPANIES SEE AGRICULTURE FUNDING FOR CLEAN TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS

BRITISH COLUMBIA – The Canadian Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food are funding 119 project across Canada to help keep farmers on the cutting edge with clean technologies through their Agricultural Clean Technology Program.

The ACT Program provides farmers and agri-businesses funding to help develop and adopt the latest clean technologies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and boost their long-term competitiveness.

There were five projects in BC that received the funding.

1076986 BC LTD. O/A KT Ranches of Kelowna received $1,786,612 for the purchase of precision agriculture technology.

Advance Agriscience Inc of Maple Ridge received $37,649 for the development of frost protection under Research and Innovation.

Way2Grow BioPharma Corp received $431,250 for the installation of solar panels and electric heating systems.

Perkins & Will Canada Architects Co. of  Vancouver  were awarded $429,000 to develop a waste ecosystem under Research and Innovation.

Boney Creek Development Ltd O/A Ksi Ts’ip Development Ltd. of Greenville received $766,772 to install a hydroponic farm.
