The Peterbilt trucks are simple and straightforward to recharge

NANAIMOPeterbilt Pacific Inc.’s fleet of EV (Electric Vehicle) trucks has arrived.

The dealership has three models available: the 520EV, 220EV and 579EV, and marketing lead Abby Lim states: “Four of our locations have DC fast chargers – Nanaimo, Surrey, Abbotsford and Delta. We are the only OEM in BC with DC fast chargers available, and we have also adopted EV vehicles into our internal delivery fleet.

“We also help customers from start to finish, sourcing and quoting out chargers if needed, and also when applying for provincial government rebates for the EV truck through the CleanBC Commercial Vehicle Program.”

James Voth, Dealer Technical Manager for Peterbilt Pacific, notes that “this technology is very new to the industry, so we know there are a lot of questions about which businesses would benefit from this change. With the CleanBC initiative, we are fully committed to aiding our customers through this shift all while supporting BC’s vision.

Lim notes that Peterbilt Pacific is currently witnessing unprecedented growth, with a significant surge in activity across their 11 locations throughout the province.

“Our service team is busier than ever, tending to a constant influx of trucks requiring maintenance and support,” she states. “Additionally, our parts department has achieved remarkable sales figures, setting new records.”

That growth is attributed in large part due to the re-sale value of the vehicles, “and the trucks’ ability to handle the rough BC terrain and the overall service and excellence that comes with the purchase of a truck,” she adds.

The Pasiuk family started the business in 1969 and sold to the Jim Pattison Group in 2015. Current president, Jim Schroeder, is from the original Pasiuk family, son in law of the original owner John, and the brother-in-law of Don and Terry, the two brothers who took over the business after their father.

The keys to the company’s success?

“Pivoting with new technology and always keeping our customer top of mind,” Lim explains. “We cater to the needs of our customers and we are always thinking of how we can constantly exceed their expectations to get them back on the road as quickly as possible. Our customers’ success is our success.

“Additionally, our employees and our team in every location across the province work extremely hard, care deeply for our customers, and are genuinely passionate about the work they do.”
