Clients Receive Support & Companionship From Company’s Specially Trained Caregivers
VICTORIA – Comfort Keepers supports seniors and their families by providing opportunities for meaningful engagement. By choosing Comfort Keepers, families receive support that includes specially trained caregivers, companionship, medication reminders, respite care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care and individualized plans.
With Greater Victoria’s aging population growing, so has the demand for Comfort Keepers Victoria’s “end-to-end” care.
Comfort keepers caregivers work to build authentic, caring relationships and implement custom care plans that evolve with a senior’s needs, thereby Elevating the Human Spirit ™
“We provide care for people that need everything from companionship to 24 hour care,” says franchise owner Roger Martin. “We’ve worked for some clients to set up appointments for them and help them with grocery shopping. We’ve taken clients on fishing trips and brought them back, making sure they were safe the entire time. Our staff jump on opportunities to help organize events, from end to end. This is an example of the care we provide that makes sure someone is living their best life possible.”
Comfort Keepers Victoria is one of Victoria’s accredited home care services, and has won numerous awards for its customer service, including two of the past three years from the Better Business Bureau.
“It’s a feather in our cap,” Martin states. “What these awards really mean is we take the next step in the care we provide for our clients. It’s not about just coming in and doing a task-based service. We want to make sure our clients are satisfied, and if that means going above and beyond what a client needs, whether that be at 1 in the afternoon or 1 in the morning, we do it. We are committed to offering our clients safe, high-quality services. To achieve this, we applied for and received Exemplary Standing with Accreditation Canada. There are not many in-home companies that can say that they are Accredited as this is not a requirement for in-home care companies to work in the industry. However, we wanted to provide our clients with the assurance that they are receiving the best care possible and chose to apply for Accreditation. Accreditation is an intensive process in which an organization’s processes, policies, and procedures are examined by industry experts against a set of quality standards. The standards required to achieve accredited status include Client Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Employee Safety, and Healthy Work/Life Balance among.”
“Our most successful services are definitely 24/7 care and overnight care,” Roger explains. “We have our staff on shifts to make sure we have someone there all the time in case something happens. Whether it be for cooking, or helping a client to the bathroom, we’re there.”
At a time when seniors feel as if their in-dependence is slipping away, we strive to provide high quality in-home caregiving services that give seniors the opportunity to continue living in the comfort of their own home. After all, there is no place like home.” he adds.
