Coastal Community Credit Union Earns Workplace Culture Distinction

October 28, 2022

VANCOUVER ISLANDCoastal Community Credit Union, the largest financial institution based on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Island was recently re-certified as a Great Place to Work® for the fourth year in a row.

The Great Place to Work® certification is based on a thorough independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work Institute® Canada. It’s based on direct feedback from employees, provided as a part of an extensive and anonymous survey about their workplace experience.

“This certification is especially meaningful in the current uncertain climate, and our entire team deserves the honour,” said Bruno Dragani, Chief People & Administration Officer for the credit union. “Our caring employees continue to go the extra mile to improve our members’ and clients’ financial health, all while dealing with staffing, workload and economic challenges. I thank them for their remarkable work in building a safe and collaborative work culture through thick and thin.”

Nancy Fonseca, Senior Vice President of Great Place to Work® Canada, says that a great workplace is about the level of trust that employees experience in their leaders, the level of pride they have in their jobs, and the extent to which they enjoy their colleagues. Dragani agrees with that assessment.

“The survey results give us a better understanding of our strengths and opportunities in those areas, and I’m proud to say that we saw significant increases in our scores this year,” he said. “We’ll continue to build trust by growing a listening culture to understand. Our organization offers learning and development opportunities and wellness resources to support the holistic well-being of our employees. We want everyone to feel they have the chance to grow, lead and excel.”
