VICTORIA – The Langford Economic Development Committee (EDC), in partnership with Bayview Place and
Broadway in Victoria, is excited to bring the sizzling and sexy musical Chicago to the Royal Theatre this month.
Chicago is, deservedly, the #1 longest‐running American musical in Broadway history.
Last holiday season, Langford businesses came together to bring Mamma Mia to the Royal Theatre, a hugely successful event that was enjoyed by all who attended. This year, the Langford EDC is excited that it is able to bring Chicago to the Capital Region. Chicago is the biggest Broadway show ever presented in the Capital Region.
Mayor Stewart Young, on behalf of the Langford EDC, extends “a big thank you to presenting sponsor Ken Mariash and Bayview Place, Henry Kolenko for organizing this great event, and the cast and crew for coming to Vancouver Island to put on a world class show.”
Performances begin on Monday, December 18, 2017 and run through Saturday, December 23, 2017 at The Royal Theatre, 805 Broughton Street. Performances run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 pm, Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2:00 pm. The performances are also a festive fundraiser. Through this event, the Langford EDC is also pleased to donate $10,000 to the Goldstream Food Bank, $3,000 to the Langford Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for a holiday dinner for those in need, $1,000 to Another Brick in Nepal’s earthquake relief, $1000 to Santas Anonymous, $1,000 to the Children’s Health Foundation and $1,000 to the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
The Langford EDC hopes to see you at the show and wishes you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!
