WESTSHORE – The WestShore Chamber of Commerce started life as the Colwood and Districts Chamber of Commerce on October 10, 1956. We are proud to have been serving our community for 70 years, supporting local businesses, fostering connections, and playing our part in building a vibrant community. Working with a Task Force of WestShore Chamber members, we’ve been doing research, talking to previous staff and board members, planning events, and collecting both stories and feedback on what our future priorities could be.

In addition to all of our regular networking and signature events, we’ll be holding two which celebrate our 70th anniversary. The first of these is The Platinum Party, which will take place at Emporia in Langford on May 21. You can expect great food, connections, music, learning and laughter throughout the evening. Tickets go on sale on April 1 (no joke!)

Then on September 18, we will be gathering at the Langford Legion for a WestShore Chamber Quiz Night. Bring a team or join one on the night to compete for prizes, answering trivia questions about what the Westshore Chamber has been up to over the last 70 years. Top tip: follow us on social media and look out for our “Did You Know” posts to start collecting questions and answers.

You can also expect a question or two about our Past President Mike Reilly! Mike completed an unprecedented term of 10 years at the end of 2025, so the evening will celebrate his many contributions to the work of the WestShore Chamber.

During these challenging times we continue to do the crucial work of providing service to and advocating on behalf of businesses in our community. We know that at the same time, connection and joy are no less important in helping us make it through tough times. We invite members, staff & directors, and stakeholders past and present to join us at our 70th anniversary festivities!
