The Hanson family behind Casterland

PITT MEADOWSCasterland has been helping customers move around smoothly in many different ways for five decades, and the company just keeps rolling forward.

Casterland is the leading caster and wheels supplier in Canada, and they have locations on the Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows (Casterland), and on Clark Drive in Vancouver (Caster Town).

“This is our 50th anniversary, and it’s a milestone that celebrates half a century of keeping businesses moving,” says Adrianna Hanson, President of Caster Town and Casterland. “We are a Western Canadian company that has played a huge role in supporting BC’s unique business sectors, including construction, industrial, med-tech, film, port operations, hospitality, medical/hospital, and others. Our mission is to help companies operate safely, efficiently, and productively.”

Casterland specializes in casters, wheels, and ergonomic material-handling solutions. Whether it’s mobility for hospital equipment, factory machinery, or construction staging, their products keep essential operations in motion.

In construction, Casterland’s solutions are everywhere, though often behind the scenes. From scaffolding and jobsite carts to portable fabrication tables and heavy-equipment staging, their casters and wheels support the tools and trades that build communities. They also supply material-handling equipment that improves safety and efficiency on jobsites, helping builders move heavy components with less strain and downtime.

Casterland: For anything that rolls

Casterland is a family business that has been part of Adrianna’s life for 25 years. She oversees operations across eight Western Canadian locations and leads their long-term strategy: growth, modernization, acquisitions, and culture.

“My role bridges day-to-day execution with big-picture direction, ensuring we continue to thrive today while building resilience for the future,” Adrianna notes. “My family purchased the original location 25 years ago, and my parents led its expansion throughout the region. Today, I’m proud to represent the second generation of a locally owned and operated business, deeply connected to Western Canada’s business community, and we’re carrying that legacy forward through modernization and growth.”

Customers trust Casterland because they pair technical expertise with unmatched inventory availability and exceptional service. They don’t just sell products – they solve mobility challenges.

“Our growth has been both steady and strategic,” Adrianna points out. “In the past few years, we’ve completed multiple acquisitions, expanded into new markets, and invested heavily in infrastructure and technology. Our growth is deliberate. It is anchored in process, discipline and long-term value creation, so every step strengthens our people, our systems, and our customers’ experience.”

As a distributor of casters and material-handling equipment, Casterland operates in a niche market, but one that touches nearly every industry. “We’ve built the largest and most diverse inventory of casters and material-handling solutions in Canada, supported by eight service hubs across Western Canada,” she states. “This allows us to respond quickly to the highly specialized and fast-changing demands of our customers – from construction and manufacturing to healthcare and logistics.”

Adrianna explains there are three pillars that have contributed to the company’s success.

“Unmatched inventory breadth, strong global supplier partnerships, and exceptional customer service,” she notes. “Together, they’ve earned us a reputation for reliability, responsiveness, and innovation.”
