CAMPBELL RIVER – Freshwater Marina in downtown Campbell River was purchased by Vernon-based Bryton Marine Group on April 16, the second major announcement made by North America’s largest private family owned aluminum boat builder in April.
Freshwater Marina, at 2705 North Island Highway, will now operate under the Bryton Marine Group umbrella. The acquisition aligns with Bryton Marine Group’s long-term objective to build aluminum boats and complements the manufacturing capacity expansion strategy of EagleCraft Boats.
Bryton Marine Group signed an agreement with BRP Inc. of Quebec to purchase the assets of its subsidiary, St. Peter, Minnesota-based Alumacraft earlier in April.
“We are very excited about this acquisition,” says Byron Bolton, CEO of Bryton Marine Group, adding that he marina’s strategic location and comprehensive services make it an ideal addition to the company’s portfolio. “This investment in Campbell River reinforces our commitment to the community and further aligns with our purpose to enrich local and maritime communities for future generations.”
Established in 1992, Bryton Marine Group is North America’s largest privately owned welded aluminum boat builder, with six brands and five business units specializes in manufacturing aluminum boats from 14 to 150 feet. Is a Platinum Member of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. They have five companies: All American Marine, BRIX Marine, Duckworth, EagleCraft, KingFisher Boats and Weldcraft, along with Renaissance Marine Group.
The addition of Freshwater Marina enhances the company’s ability to serve commercial and recreational markets, providing customers with access to their marina services and facilities.
Freshwater Marina offers a wide range of amenities including moorage, and has become a desired destination for local and visiting boaters.
