The NCDA has proudly administered the Clean BC Go Electric Vehicle Rebate Program since its inception in 2011. Despite the pandemic and supply chain issues, more than 18,000 rebate transactions were processed in 2021, the highest number in the history of the Program.
A 2021 Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Update revealed that ZEVs represented 13 per cent of all new light vehicle sales in BC last year – the highest rate in North America on a per capita basis. In fact, during the first quarter of 2022, the rate of ZEV sales in BC exceeded 17 per cent.
“The level of partnership and collaboration between industry and provincial and local governments, has been instrumental in our success. Another key aspect has been our three-pillar approach, which include point of purchase rebates, policy, and funding to create increased access to charging stations, along with education and awareness about the benefits of ZEV ownership,” said Blair Qualey, President, and CEO of the NCDA. “The course we have charted creates a path for continued success and a host of benefits. It’s good for government, good for business and good for the environment.”
