NANAIMO – In his latest monthly video podcast, Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) president Jason Finlayson said 431 single family homes changed hands during September, as compared to the 405 that sold within the VIREB coverage area in September 2014. Finlayson also said that home sales were actually down slightly from August, when 439 homes were reported sold.
In his monthly report the Board President said the inventory of available properties on Vancouver Island has declined by 15 percent since last September. During the same one year period housing prices have climbed by six percent. The reported VIREB benchmark price for a single family home last month was set at $340,200.
