CAMPBELL RIVERQuality Designs Ltd. is looking for more quality people to turn out quality signs and products.

Shannon and Geoff Orlick are the owners of Quality Designs Ltd.

“We are a fun and growing company looking for experienced talent to join our team, says Geoff Orlick, who along with his wife Shannon purchased the company in 2015. “We are committed to providing a ‘Quality’ product backed by our staff of designers and applicators.  We work within our customer’s budget to provide them with unique products and services, whether it is industrial, residential, commercial signs or a special one-of-a-kind gift.

Geoff says the company, which was founded in 1991, has grown tremendously since they purchased it.

“Previously, there were three people working and now we have a staff of eight,” he notes. “We are committed to helping our community and business in our city.  We have assisted new business in branding and promotion while offering discounted pricing and a payment plan.  We want to support growth in our city and this is one way we can help small business thrive.”

Business has doubled in the past fiscal year, and the biggest challenge facing the company is finding more people to work.

“We have used NIEFS (North Island Employment) to successfully hire and train a new designer/equipment operator,” Shannon says. “We are currently advertising for an apprentice sign applicator. We will train new, young workers and they will learn the skills required for the trade.”

Geoff has over 30 years’ experience in owning and operating sign shops, while Shannon has over 25 years in office management and customer service, and they’re running on all cylinders with extended hours and weekend appointments. “When we say we have cut ourselves back to 12 hour shifts, we are not exaggerating,” she chuckles.

Quality Designs has two Mimaki flatbed printers and two Trotec 400 laser machines that enables their team to provide unique one-of-a-kind advertising products.

“We allow our clients to provide their own items: woodwork, leather, glass, mirror, mugs the list is endless,” Geoff states. “From artistic to industrial, these machineS have many uses.”

Shannon notes that they have three designers on staff, and that they “try to educate our clients on how to save money and get the product they need.  We ask a number of questions to determine what the client needs and then work with them to achieve their vision in a timely manner.”

They have also gone above and beyond to support local sports, service groups and individuals in the Campbell River with donations and free and discounted signs for the community.
