The Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce, announces the new Board of Directors. The pandemic has caused us to reflect and modify how the Chamber does business and how we manage and execute our responsibilities as a not-for-profit organization. For the second year now, we set up a Zoom virtual AGM on April 21 and invited members to attend.

Matt Breedlove, Board Chair of the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce chaired the AGM and he summarized the process this way: ‘The Nomination Period was advertised in the Chamber newsletter and nominations were received for the Treasurer position and 3 Directors; all were acclaimed. The year end financial statements were reviewed and passed by membership and the annual report, highlighting Chamber activities over the year was presented.’

Matt says, “As a resident of Qualicum Beach for 37 years I’ve experienced numerous changes in our beautiful Community. It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to give back and work with such a diverse and talented Board of Directors. We all share the same feelings of keeping our quaint Town vibrant, enjoyable, sustainable and one of the best places in Canada to live, shop & play.”

We are very pleased to announce the new Board of Directors for 2021/2022: Matt Breedlove, Chair – Royal LePage Parksville-Qualicum Beach Realty; Daniella Novak, Vice Chair – CIBC; Bonnie Cyre, Treasurer – Raymond James Ltd. and Sarah Duncan, Past Chair – Coastal Community Credit Union. Directors – Robin Bruner of Swell Sweets; Andy Lee of Ocean Crest Motel; Jay Norton of JR Norton Inc.; Krista Robins of Berwick Qualicum Beach; Jean Young of Arbutus Fashion and Virginia Worcester of Borealis Hair & Body Bar.
