NANAIMO – Organizers of the State of the Island Summit have announced that BC Premier Christy Clark will be the keynote speaker at the Summit Dinner planned for Wednesday, October 28, 2015.
In a media release from the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance (VIEA) organizers of the two-day event planned for October 28 and 29, stated: “Premier Clark will address delegates gathered for the 9th annual ‘State of the Island’ Economic Summit at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo. Her presentation is sponsored by the Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation (NEDC).”

To be held at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC) in Nanaimo, the Summit begins with the opening of the Summit Tradeshow at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 28 and concludes at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 29 following the Closing Luncheon. The conference program features four plenary presentations and 16 panel sessions on topics pertinent to the Island economy.
The schedule for this year’s event includes three bonus sessions: two concurrent Pre-Summit sessions – LNG BuyBC and AHOY BC at 8:30 AM, Wednesday, October 28 and 2:30 PM Thursday, October 29 with a Post-Summit session on Cruise Industry Opportunities with the Nanaimo Port Authority and Tourism Nanaimo.
