PARKSVILLE – The Oceanside Women’s Business Network (OWBN) will host its first annual Beehive networking event on Saturday, October 3 at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre. The session is expected to attract more than 200 business women from the Central Vancouver Island region, and beyond.
The Beehive event consists of networking, business training, and a companion trade fair, all in a fun, facilitated format to create a successful environment for lead generation. Attendees will gain the confidence and know-how to get sales leads and turn them into revenue.
Sue Clement, of Success Coaching in Vancouver, will facilitate a group-networking activity, and provide valuable training, at the event. She will share her best networking strategies to help women deepen their business relationships. Attendees will learn how to ask for referrals, and follow up on the sales leads they receive that day.
“Women get so disillusioned with networking because they don’t see results,” says Sue Clement. “This Beehive event delivers a proven formula to teach women how to properly ask for referrals, and set them up for future networking success.”
The event will be held in Parksville, but the OWBN is inviting people from Campbell River, Comox, Port Alberni, Tofino, Nanaimo, and all points beyond. Registrants don’t have to be a member of a women’s business network to attend.
“Networking groups focus on relationships and referrals at a local level,” explains Barb Ashcroft, OWBN president. “We want to help our members, and other business women, to expand and get exposure in other markets.”
OWBN is working with the Nanaimo WBN, and the Comox Valley WBN to promote the event. They have also received some monetary support from the Regional District of Nanaimo, who recognizes the ladies’ attempts to help build economic improvements to the area.
