CSN Reliable Auto Body’s team works with state-of-the-art equipment

COMOX VALLEY – CSN Reliable Auto Body is known for providing first rate service to its vehicle repair customers for over seven decades, as well as its commitment to its employees.
Without a good team, it’s impossible for any business to thrive, let alone survive, and owner Curtus Larson, who is also General Manager and a Certified Refinish Technician says the firm has worked hard to create a great culture.
“We do have a great culture here, not only in terms of accountability, but it’s our willing-ness to help our co-workers that creates good technicians,” he notes. “It’s like a family here, and our people know they’re coming to a good working environment with colleagues that have a common goal.”
CSN goes to great lengths to bring new technicians into the industry, as they are heavily involved with the high school trades program, and the transportation trades program in particular. Larson takes one classroom through the shop each month to give them an idea of what the trade is all about.

“We go into what our top technicians make as far as a wage goes, as a lot of people are not familiar with what a good wage can be,” he notes. “We want to show kids how technical this industry is, how advanced the vehicles are, and all the skills you need to be in the industry, from a mechanical standpoint, to sheet metal repairs, and welding. There are so many different skills that are involved, which makes it a very fulfilling career.”
CSN Reliable is also the sole liaison shop for the pre-apprentice course at North Island College in Campbell River, and allow students to work on auto body parts to work on in their own time.
“All of our technicians are teaching other people,” he notes. “There aren’t any body techs that aren’t willing to share their tricks of the trade.”
Team members also participate in profit sharing, and the company offers extended health and dental benefits.
Besides the Comox Valley, CSN Reliable customers come from Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Parksville, Qualicum Beach and Campbell River.
“We have one of the most OEM certified technicians and dealer certifications, so people see that and recognize there is a lot of training and updating equipment that comes with that,” he says, adding they are certified through multiple vendors, including Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Kia and FLA/Mopar.
CSN Reliable Auto Body is also an ICBC ac-credited repair shop and is a member of the ICar Certified Collision Repair Program as a Gold Class – Aluminum Certified shop.
