CREA Update: Home Sales Virtually Unchanged In August

September 21, 2015

NATIONWIDE – Home sales figures across Canada increased ever so slightly last month, according to information released by the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). In its monthly video podcast, Gregory Klump, CREA’s Chief Economist said home sales edged upward .3 percent in August when compared to the July sales stats. Tiny as the increase was, the total represented the fifth straight month where national sales have stayed at this level – the highest rate of sales recorded in the past five years.

However, the price of homes sold across Canada last month were up sharply, rising nearly 6.5 percent from the national Home Price Index figures reported in August 2014.
