NANAIMO – Mid Island Consumer Services Co-operative announced that it has entered into an agreement with the owners of Liquor Plus Ltd., Victoria to purchase the Liquor Plus Ltd. location located in Courtenay, on Vancouver Island. Pending completion of customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close early December 2023.
“This acquisition aligns with Mid Island Co-op’s strategic growth and diversification in the retail liquor market and with our long-term vision to provide our member/owners with increased diversity of services and long-term sustainability”, says Ian Anderson, CEO of Mid Island Co-op. The transition of this new location to the Co-op’s “Mid Island Liquor” brand will provide the opportunity for existing and new Mid Island Co-op member/owners to use their Co-op membership number and earn equity and cashback in early 2024.
