COMOX VALLEY – The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with RLR Lawyers and Experience Comox Valley, is excited to announce the return of its signature summer celebration, the 2nd Annual Summer BBQ & Agri-tour, happening Thursday, August 28 at the picturesque Smith Lake Farm in Merville.
This relaxed and family-friendly gathering is the Chamber’s most casual event of the year—a perfect summertime contrast to January’s red-carpet Business Awards Gala. The whole family is welcome to join in the fun as we celebrate community, agriculture, and local business in the great outdoors.
The day begins with a free Agri-tourism Roundtable from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., bringing together local leaders from Smith Lake Farm, Fireweed Farmstead, Comox Valley Farmers’ Market, Rusted Rake Brewing, and 40 Knots Winery. In partnership with Experience Comox Valley, this session highlights how farm-based tourism is growing rural economies across the region. Roundtable attendees also enjoy a complimentary bee tour at 3:00 p.m. Limited pre-registration is required.
From 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., the ticketed Summer BBQ & Agri-tour kicks off—an easygoing evening of delicious local food, drinks, and connection. Lush Valley Catering will serve up a seasonal BBQ dinner featuring Smith Lake Farm meats and fresh produce, while Natural Pastures Cheese Company and 40 Knots Winery offer on-site tastings of their award-winning products. Guests can also pre-register for complimentary bee tours at 4:15 or 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for the BBQ must be purchased in advance. Partial proceeds support the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market’s New Farmer Bursary, helping grow the next generation of food producers.
This event is made possible by the generous support of our sponsors: Smith Lake Farm, RLR Lawyers and Experience Comox Valley, Natural Pastures Cheese Company and 40 Knots Winery.
Event Location: 1481 Larkin Rd, Merville, BC
