COMOX VALLEY – The Comox Valley Chamber is thrilled to announce its Summer BBQ & Agri-tour, a casual family event designed to foster connections between the agriculture and business sectors. This special gathering, hosted in collaboration with Smith Lake Farms, promises a delightful evening of food, fun, and community spirit.

A Celebration of Local Partnerships
Proudly sponsored by RLR Law, Smith Lake Farm and Experience Comox Valley, this event features local Chamber Member food producers, celebrating the end of summer at Vancouver Island’s premier agritourism destination. Smith Lake Farm’s own Clea Adair will share her inspiring journey of bringing the farm to life. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the farm’s apiary, learning about sustainable beekeeping practices and the vital role bees play in local food security.
Culinary Delights and Craft Beverages
The BBQ dinner will highlight Smith Lake Farm sausages and produce from both Chamber Members and Comox Valley Farmers’ Market vendors. Attendees can savor a custom brew, the “Summer Stout,” crafted by Land & Sea Brewing using Smith Lake’s own farm honey. Additionally, Natural Pastures Cheese Company and Wayward Distillery will offer tastings of their award-winning cheeses and honey-based spirits. Eatmore Sprouts have generously donated sprouts and microgreens for our Valley grown salads.
Educational Bee Tours
Experience Comox Valley generously supports the complimentary bee tours, offering insights into sustainable beekeeping practices and the importance of pollinators. Tours are limited to 10 attendees per session, with slots available at 4:30 and 5:30 pm. Pre-registration is required, and participants should arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.
Guests are reminded to wear closed toe shoes if participating in the tours. Bee suits will be provided by Smith Lake Farms. Proceeds from the bee tour sponsorship go directly to support emerging farmers through the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market Association’s ‘New Farmer Bursary’.
