COMOX VALLEY – The Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce (CVCC) is pleased to announce that after a dynamic recruiting campaign, they are welcoming two new Board Directors. Mike Atkins and Lara Austin will join the current governance board this spring. Meet these exceptional individuals as they are sworn into the Board of Directors at their upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The Chamber extends an invitation to its members and stakeholders to participate in the AGM scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 5:30pm, at 40 Knots Winery, 2400 Anderton Rd, Comox, BC.
As a cornerstone of the local business community, the CVCC is dedicated to fostering growth, prosperity, and collaboration among its members. The Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in driving the Chamber’s strategic direction and ensuring the effective governance necessary for its success.
Members of the board represent the collective interests of the Chamber’s membership and are entrusted with overseeing its operations and initiatives. The effectiveness of the Chamber is intricately tied to the caliber of its leadership, and board members are encouraged to embody qualities such as:

-Familiarity with the economic landscape of the Comox Valley, British Columbia, and Canada.
-Proven track record of leadership and advocacy.

-Critical thinking abilities and a dedication to upholding ethical standards.
-Collaboration and teamwork skills, essential for effective governance.
-A history of community engagement and contribution.
The AGM serves as a pivotal moment for the Chamber’s membership to convene, review the past year’s achievements, and chart the course for the future. Key agenda items include the approval of minutes, financial statements review, operations report and the election and installation of new directors. Members are encouraged to attend and participate actively in shaping the Chamber’s trajectory.
