CAMPBELL RIVER – The Chamber’s second annual business walk is taking place on October 20th.
What is a Business Walk?
A “Business Walk” is a day dedicated to taking the pulse of our local businesses by conducting face-to-face surveys with owners and managers. Local leaders visit each business to gather the knowledge they need to help businesses thrive and prosper.
Reasons for conducting the Business Walk:
- To understand the success and obstacles to doing business in Campbell River;
- To connect face to face with local businesses and learn from each other;
- To celebrate, promote and retain local businesses;
- To provide local businesses with information and access to resources and services to help their businesses prosper;
- Identify common themes and key indicators for business action and advocacy.
What will we do with the information collected?
An important step is taking time to analyze the survey information gathered to identify common themes for action. The Chamber will create a simple report that will convey highlights of the walk and an action plan that will allow the business community to see where their input is being applied.
You can get involved by becoming a business walker. There are multiple volunteer teams of no more than two to three people walk from business to business, asking five questions.
The prepared questions are meant to keep the visit casual. The visits are short, 10 minutes or less, to respect business owners’ time and shifts are 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm.
We ask owners and managers to please welcome Business Walkers into your business on October 20th and take a few minutes to share your insights.
