NANAIMO – Nominations are officially open for the 2025 Commercial Building Awards: Central/North Vancouver Island, marking the event’s 18th year!
The nomination deadline for submissions is Wednesday, March 21st, with winners announced at an evening gala on April 17th at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo. 225+ construction and development sector professionals will be in attendance. Coastal Community Credit Union is the Title Sponsor for the event.
New to the 2025 event are the addition of company-based awards for commercial construction sub trades and professional services firms like engineers.
“As this event has grown over the past 18 years we continue to look for ways to evolve, add value to attendees, and recognize the key contributors to those Building Vancouver Island,” says John MacDonald, owner of the Business Examiner News Group, and Commercial REALTOR® with Re/Max Commercial.
“2025 marks the addition of several new sub-trade and development service firm-based awards to recognize their critical contributions to building the projects we have celebrated for many years.”
The nomination form for commercial, industrial, multi-family and community projects completed during the 2024 calendar year is available here. The sub-trade and service firm nomination form is available here. The deadline for both forms is Friday, March 21st, 2025, end of day.
Nominated projects must be located between the Malahat highway, including the Cowichan Valley Regional District municipalities, and North Vancouver Island. Participating sub trade and service companies must be located in the same area.

Judging will be completed by a panel of 3rd party volunteer judges, to be announced at a later date.
