YLW has partnered with Sutton Hotels in the construction of a site hotel and parkade with construction to begin in 2025
KELOWNA – In October 2021, Kelowna International Airport (YLW) released an expression of interest for a long-term land lease to construct a hotel and parkade, utilizing the services of HM Commercial, a Kelowna-based commercial real estate company, for advertisement purposes. The Kelowna International Airport conducted a thorough multi-stage process to identify the preferred proponent.
Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and chosen partner, The Sutton Place Hotels, owned and operated by Northland Properties Corporation, have announced additional details about the six-storey, 245-room Sutton Place Hotel Kelowna and the seven-storey, 1,000-stall parkade.
“We are thrilled to partner with Northland Properties Corporation to bring The Sutton Place Hotel Kelowna and parkade to YLW,” said Sam Samaddar, CEO of YLW. “This project will enhance the passenger experience and create more economic opportunities for our region. The new hotel and parkade will offer convenience, comfort, and quality for Okanagan travelers and visitors alike.”
Both the hotel and parking structure will be conveniently situated next to the newly expanded terminal building at YLW, providing enhanced travel convenience. The approximate $120 million investment which should be completed by 2028.
The Sutton Place Hotel Kelowna will offer guests and locals access to amenities, including business conference facilities, an indoor leisure and fitness center, full-service valet, bell-hop, concierge, and an on-site full-service restaurant highlighting locally sourced food and beverages, complemented by a rooftop viewing lounge.
