The largest controlled environment and cold chain storage facility owned by BC Tree Fruits, located on Sexsmith Road in Kelowna, has been acquired by NOVEM. In order to prevent the loss of up to 25 million pounds of apples, NOVEM will lease the facility on an emergency basis prior to the transaction closing.

The AgeCare Sun Rivers, a 100-bed long-term care facility in Kamloops, with views of the South Thompson River, is set to open on October 21, 2024.

BC Housing recently announced plans for 58 rental homes aimed at supporting low-income individuals, families, Elders, and people with disabilities in the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc community of Kamloops. Construction is set to start this month on a project featuring 28 three- and four-bedroom townhomes, along with 30 one- and two-bedroom apartments. The anticipated opening is scheduled for 2027.

BC Housing has selected ARPA Investments to construct up to 90 new residences at 377 Tranquille Road in Kamloops.

Infrastructure BC will hold a Networking Event on September 23, 2024, at the Coast Kamloops Hotel & Conference Centre. This event aims to connect local contractors and suppliers regarding the Kamloops Cancer Centre Project.

Oliver’s Ditch Trail Project has been completed and possible due to funding from a Provincial Government’s BC Active Transportation Infrastructure Grant for the construction of a multi-use trail along the irrigation canal south of Similkameen Avenue. The total budget of $607,000 was broken down into the Province paying 70% ($425,000) and the Town paying the remaining amount of ($182,000).
