SUMMERLAND – Osoyoos Credit Union, Summerland Credit Union and Revelstoke Credit Union will be asking their members to approve a merger proposing to join the three financial institutions together.
The BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) has consented to the intent to merge, which was announced last June. Since then, the organizations have been working together to lay a strong foundation for the future, which requires membership approval, with the vote to take place between May 26 and June 2.
“We believe that merging will strengthen our ability to serve and support our members at every stage of life,” says Revelstoke Credit Union Board Chair Alan Chell. “By bringing our combined resources and expertise to the table, we’re confident that we can meet the challenges of today and seize the opportunities of tomorrow.”
Summerland Credit Union Board Chair Lorrie Forde adds “Our focus has always been on people. By coming together, we’re building a stronger foundation—one that empowers our members, strengthens our communities, and sets us up for long-term success.”
Members can attend virtual or in-person information sessions, and all three credit unions are holding in-branch open houses.
“Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and the decision to merge is no different,” says Diana Thomas, Board Chair at Osoyoos Credit Union. “We’re seeking our members’ support and ask that they vote in favour of the proposed merger between Osoyoos Credit Union, Revelstoke Credit Union, and Summerland Credit Union.”
