SALMON ARM – The City of Salmon Arm has introduced its new Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), a collaboration with the Salmon Arm Economic Development Society’s Municipal and Regional District Tax Program (MRDT). This initiative signifies the start of a cooperative, two-year pilot program designed to attract visitors to Salmon Arm.
The DMO is dedicated to establishing Salmon Arm as a year-round travel destination by crafting and executing targeted strategies to draw both domestic and international visitors. By working in partnership with DMO’s across the region, the program seeks to build strategic alliances, launch dynamic marketing initiatives, and offer memorable experiences for visitors.
Expanding upon the success of the City’s Visitor Services Function and SAEDS’ MRDT program, this pilot program fosters a unique collaboration. This approach enhances efficiency and ensures a more comprehensive strategy for drawing in visitors, talent, and investment to the city.
“This local DMO model allows us to showcase the best of our city—from breathtaking natural beauty to rich cultural experiences. It’s an exciting opportunity to shine a light on Salmon Arm and ensure our guests enjoy a remarkable experience.” shared Mayor Alan Harrison.
Bill Laird, Chairperson for Salmon Arm Economic Development Society added “Tourism is a priority sector within Salmon Arm’s economy.
