PENTICTON – The Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce has announced that nominations are now open for the highly anticipated 36th Annual Business Excellence Awards. Presented by Total Restorations, this prestigious event aims to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals in the Penticton community.

The Business Excellence Awards provide an opportunity to showcase and honour businesses that have made significant contributions to the local economy, displayed exemplary leadership, and demonstrated a commitment to excellence in their respective fields. Nominations are open to businesses, organizations, and individuals conducting business within Penticton and the surrounding area.

“We are excited to launch the nomination process for the 36th Annual Business Excellence Awards,” said Nicole Clark, President of the Chamber. “This event celebrates the remarkable achievements and

dedication of our local business community. We encourage everyone to participate by nominating deserving businesses and individuals who have made a positive impact.”

Nominations can be submitted online starting Wednesday, July 12 at 4:00pm, through the Chamber

website at www.penticton.org. The nomination period will close on Wednesday, August 2 at 4:00pm, so be sure to submit your nominations before the deadline.

A wide range of award categories is available to recognize various aspects of business excellence. These categories include Hospitality Excellence, Workplace Culture Excellence, Service Excellence, Not-for- Profit Award, Community Support Excellence, New Business Award, Marketing & Communications Award, Young Professional of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, and Business of the Year.

“We are proud to have Total Restoration Services as the presenting sponsor for the 36th Annual Business Excellence Awards,” added Clark. “Their continued support and commitment to recognizing and celebrating business achievements in our community is truly commendable.”

“Every year our team eagerly anticipates the Business Excellence Awards. It’s truly the highlight of the

year,” said Tracy Van Raes, Manager of Marketing and Community Relations at Total Restoration Services. “Total Restoration is delighted to continue our support as the presenting sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, as we join together to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our community at the 36th Annual Business Excellence Awards, with this year’s exciting theme: Lights, Camera, Excellence.”

The 2023 Business Excellence Awards will follow the theme of Lights, Camera, Excellence in Action – Hollywood Glam, creating an atmosphere of excitement and glamour to honor the remarkable accomplishments of local businesses.

The selection process for the Business Excellence Awards involves a diverse panel of 13 volunteer business and community leaders who bring their expertise and insights to ensure a fair and rigorous evaluation process. The judging process will be conducted confidentially using an online platform that allows judges to review nominee submissions, evaluate criteria, and score each nominee accordingly.

“We look forward to a two-step judging process that ensures thorough evaluations of the nominees,” explained Executive Director Michael Magnusson. “The judges will identify the top three semi-finalists in each category during the first step, and then engage with each finalist to gain deeper insights before

allocating points based on each award’s criteria. Furthermore, because each award has multiple judges, the points are averaged together through the online software so that even the judges don’t know who won until they’re announced on stage. This comprehensive process guarantees the recognition of the most deserving recipients.”

The winners of the 36th Annual Business Excellence Awards will be announced and celebrated at the awards gala, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 14th, at the exquisite Penticton Lakeside Resort & Conference Centre.
