PENTICTON – As the federal election looms, the Penticton Chamber of Commerce is doing its part to inform voters in time for their turn to exercise their vote.
The Chamber is hosting an all candidates meeting for its members to address the issues affecting the business community and will feature the candidates running in the South Okanagan – West Kootenay riding. The forum will be held on October 10 at 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Penticton Senior’s Drop in Centre. Seats are limited, and interested attendants are encouraged to register in advance by clicking here.
This year the Chamber is focusing on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Vote Prosperity’ platform – prosperity for businesses in Penticton, British Columbia and across the country. The platform reflects the priorities and concerns of job creators by laying out seven priorities, along with a series of specific measures to attract investment in Canada. The session will start with a round of ‘speed dating’ where individual candidates will move from table to table in timed intervals to introduce themselves, then hear and respond to any burning issues. This will be followed by a more formal panel session, where questions and answers will be shared with the audience as a whole.
