Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board To Merge With South Okanagan Real Estate Board

KELOWNA – On Wednesday November 25th, the members of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board and the South Okanagan Real Estate Board voted to merge and combine their financial and operational resources.

The new Association of Interior Realtors will officially be formed on January 1st, 2021 and will serve approximately 1,600 realtors from Revelstoke south to the US border, east to Rock Creek and west to Eastgate Manning Park. It will also encompass the communities of Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, and Dawson Creek in the South Peace River region. Presidents Kim Heizmann,

OMREB and Lyndi Cruickshank, SOREB are very pleased and excited to share the announcement of collaboration between these two Boards who have come together to form a more perfect union, combining resources to serve and promote the value realtors bring to the real estate transaction.

“Congratulations to all (realtors) members and welcome to the Association of Interior Realtors, British Columbia’s newest real estate association,” said British Columbia Real Estate Association Chair, Anthony Bastiaanssen.

The new Association will be the 13th largest Realtors Association in Canada. The Canadian Real Estate Association Chair, Costa Poulopoulos also extended a congratulatory message on Thursday. “I would especially like to congratulate Presidents Kim Heizmann and Lyndi Cruickshank for their visionary leadership in bringing their boards together and to the Directors of both boards for their support of this historic accomplishment.”

OMREB’s current President Kim Heizmann will remain as President of the new organization and SOREB’s President Lyndi Cruickshank will take the position of Vice-President. The Association of Interior Realtors will provide leadership and support to its members in their pursuit of professional excellence within the interior region of British Columbia.

The Board of Directors and the dedicated staff team will continue to improve the services available to the organization’s realtors members and further promote the value of using a realtor, both provincially and nationally.
