The 2022 Judges Choice Award went to UBC Okangan Nechako Commons and was built by Sawchuk Developments Co.
KELOWNA – Nominations are now open for the 2023 Thompson Okanagan Commercial Building Awards! The event will take place on September 28th at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna.
“We’re beyond excited to help celebrate and promote the top commercial real estate projects and developers across the region this year,” says John MacDonald, Publisher of the Business Examiner News Group.
“This years’ event builds off of the success of 2022’s, with nominations already pouring in,” he adds. “We’re also blessed with fantastic sponsors who make these events possible, with Freedom Capital, Financial Dream Solutions, Re/Max Commercial, Green Sheet Construction Data and TRS Building Envelope | TOMTAR Roofing & Sheet Metal adding their support to this event. Eligible projects must be completed during the 2022 Calendar Year, and located in one of the following regions: Kelowna, City of West Kelowna, Lake Country, Kamloops, Vernon, Coldstream, Salmon Arm, Penticton, Summerland, Oliver, Osoyoos, Columbia Shuswap Regional District, North Okanagan Regional District, or the Thompson Nicola Regional District.

There will be at least 13 award categories, including:
- Affordable Housing
- Community Institutional
- Hospitality & Tourism
- Industrial
- Multi-Family Condominium
- Multi-Family Townhouse
- Office
- Purpose Built Rental
- Renovation
- Retail
- Safety Award
- Architect of the Year
- Construction Business of the Year
There will also be a Judges’ Choice Award for the best overall entry.
Individual tickets to the awards are $249 plus GST, while tables of 8 are $1,500. Organizers expect this to sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased here.
